Under a Technology Collaboration and Supply Agreement, Sterling Tools will lead local engineering, manufacturing, and sales of ARAS technology, developed to reduce two-wheeler road fatalities, across India's automotive market.

Sterling Tools Limited, an automotive components and technology company, has announced a Technology Collaboration Agreement (TCA) and Supply Agreement (SA) with Nanjing Haohang Technology Co., Ltd., a China-based developer of Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) for two-wheelers. The arrangement designates Sterling Tools as the lead entity for local development, system adaptation, manufacturing, and sales of ARAS technology in India.

ARAS technology functions in a manner similar to the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) found in passenger cars, using sensors, software, and control systems to generate real-time alerts and support riders in identifying potential hazards. The systems tested by the two companies on Indian roads include Front Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Warning, and Wrong-Side Alert, with additional features under development.
